Laurette Payette

Laurette is a retired educator, tennis coach and Director of Athletics of 32 years at Hathaway Brown School. She led her Blazers to a Private School League and NEOTA Division A championship and a second place finish at the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association Division II State Team Tournament. Also, Laurette has taken three teams to the OTCA State Team Tournament and has a career coaching record of 313-140. Laurette is a lifetime member of the United States Tennis Association and the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association. She has been awarded the James Rakestraw Longevity award twice from the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association. In 2007, Hathaway Brown School has dedicated the Athletic Hall of Fame in her name. Laurette continues to officiate high school and collegiate lacrosse. Over the past 17 years, she has officiated Division I, II and III rounds of the NCAA Tournament. In 2013 she officiated the Division I Semi’s Final Four and in 2014 the Division III Semifinals and Championship. Laurette also is the NE Ohio Girls’ High School Tennis League Secretary and Scheduler.
